Understand the decision
- Teller development combines cash accuracy, check review, transaction processing, customer service, security awareness, and role boundaries.
- A useful sequence is to understand the request, complete the required checks, process accurately, and explain the next authorized step.
- An overview is a starting point. Practice and your institution’s training are needed before you perform unfamiliar work.

0:06 — A map of teller training
The series introduces cash handling, check processing, transactions, customer service, security, and the changing teller role. New learners can use that map to identify what they need to learn rather than trying to master everything at once.
1:03 — Cash habits and reconciliation
The cash module focuses on accurate counts, the starting balance, and the closing reconciliation. Treat consistency as a process to practice. A difference needs the approved review and reporting process; a learning exercise cannot authorize a correction.
1:40 — Checks and transaction work
Check handling includes examining the item, endorsements, and relevant warning signs. Transaction work combines the customer’s request with identity, authority, data-entry, and approval requirements. Questions that exceed your role need an authorized colleague.
2:40 — Service and security together
Customer service includes listening, clarifying the request, and explaining a supported next step. Security awareness includes protecting access and following the institution’s emergency procedures. Friendly service does not require bypassing a safeguard.
3:48 — Growing beyond an overview
The teller role includes helping customers understand services and next steps. Use the overview to choose one skill to practice, then work through the full lessons. Do not treat completion of a video as a professional qualification or a guarantee of workplace competence.
