JAY GET IT / ACADEMY · PRINTABLE JOB AID

Before you quote a date.

Regulation CC Essentials · A quick reference for the next transaction.

Return to the lesson

1. Establish the starting point

Check deposit type, channel, account status, banking day and applicable cutoff.

2. Use the applicable schedule

Consult current requirements and the institution’s disclosed policy. Do not automatically apply teller examples to mobile deposits.

3. Check conditions and exceptions

Verify special-check conditions, account relationship history and any eligible exception with the authorized reviewer.

4. Confirm amounts and dates

The $275 minimum and $6,725 large-deposit threshold serve different purposes. Only the excess is covered by the large-deposit exception alone.

5. Use the approved notice

Confirm the applicable notice, required information and timing. Do not invent a release date or promise an unauthorized override.

6. Explain and escalate

Acknowledge the customer’s need, explain verified amounts and dates, and offer a permitted next step. Escalate uncertainty or fraud concerns.

Availability does not establish final payment. Ordinary schedules have conditions and exceptions. Follow current law and approved procedures; this job aid is not a complete hold-placement manual.
