JAY GET IT / ACADEMY · PRINTABLE JOB AID
Identify. Record. Reconcile. Route.
Banking Operations · A quick reference for the next transaction.
1. Identify the payment
Verify rail, direction, status and request through approved access. Do not assume every “transfer” follows the same process.
2. Receive the report
Capture relevant report facts and time, with approved verification. Use the applicable error-intake workflow; do not impose automatic merchant-contact or police-report barriers.
3. Preserve the evidence
Use approved records and references. Separate observed detail from the customer’s explanation.
4. Reconcile independently
Calculate the expected result and compare supporting items. A difference is a clue to investigate, not permission for a plug adjustment.
5. Maintain controls
Follow authority limits, independent review and separate-credential requirements. Use the designated coverage route when someone is unavailable.
6. Make the handoff clear
State the issue, facts, actions taken, current status and next owner. A queued request is not a completed correction. Do not promise an unconfirmed outcome.
Use current procedures and authorized review for coverage, timing, network rules and actual adjustments. This is an introductory reference, not a complete payment-processing or error-resolution manual.
